Uniko - 9th Birthday Blog Hop and Linky Party

Hello Friends,

It's birthday month over at Uniko this month and we're celebrating it's 9th birthday with blog hop and linky party! If you fancy joining the fun then follow the link to the Uniko blog HERE where you'll find all the details of how to enter and what prizes you may win.

Good luck!!!

Here's my birthday card using the dies from the English Country Garden Butterflies set with a sentiment from the Wonderful Day stamp set. In fact I've just realised that my previous card, for the challenge last week, also featured Butterflies....maybe it's hopeful for an early spring!

I used the butterfly dies, cutting them into my card panel then tracing around each butterfly directly onto the card front prior to masking and inking the butterfly apertures with some pretty zingy distress ink colours. I decided to go with a shaker card so added some acetate and foam tape to give the beads, pearls and sequins space to move. (Unfortunately some have stuck themselves to the foam tape on which the front panel is mounted - despite vigorous shaking!!!). Lastly I stamped the sentiment on a die-cut strip and adhered it with foam tape, adding a few coordinating sequins for some birthday bling!

I hope you feel inspired to join the party and why not visit my crafty team buddies who have some superb birthday designs for you to check out too - the links are as follows:

Uniko - Challenge #63

Hi there craft friends

Today, I have a little reminder about the latest challenge over at Uniko

The theme for this one is mega easy 'Anything Goes' with the optional twist to use a stencil! I decided to have another play with the Bright Butterflies stencil using Distress inks and shimmer paste. The card is for a friend of my Mum's and I love the 'stripping' technique using coloured cardstocks so decided to incorporate it using similar colours to the inks I'd used on the stencil and placing it behind my die-cut number.

Here's what I came up with:

As always there's plenty of fantastic creations by my fellow teamies, so why not head over to the Uniko blog HERE to check out the links and pay them a visit! I'm sure they'd appreciate it and here's our Cue Card for the challenge which we'd love to see displayed in your blog post.

You have until Friday, 19th February to link up to the challenge and all the details you need about prizes and how to play can be found over at Uniko HERE

As always thanks for calling by my blog today and I hope you feel inspired and will play along with us!

Uniko - Revisit Blog Hop January 2021

Hi there friends

With this being my first post of 2021 I'm wishing you all a very Happy New Year too!

It's a REVIST month over at Uniko where Bev asks us to 'dig out', dust down and bring a previously released set back into the spotlight! This time she's chosen the Hello Lovely set which was released last January.

I decided to go with some BOLD and BRIGHT colour blocking as I figured we all need cheering up these days and these colours certainly pop for me and make me smile. It's not a trio of colours I've combined before but it was a case of dip, dip, dip in my box of coloured card to see what I came up with!

The beauty of this technique is you can make a bunch of cards all at the same time and they're pretty quick. Once I'd chosen my colours I heat embossed the image onto each of the 3 cardstock panels, sliced each one equally in 3 and popped them on a card base.

In hindsight I could have made this quicker / easier for myself by stamping the sentiments at this point BUT I forgot so had to do a little bit of 'lining-up' embossing on separate card to then pop the sentiment die-cut exactly over the top of the original stamping.

Here's the other 2 cards I made at the same time ...

As is the tradition there's a blog hop giveaway; the prize being the Hello Lovely set and if you already own these items an alternative prize will be offered.

You'll find all the details over at Uniko HERE and here's the list of blogs you need to visit on the hop!
I wish you lots of luck!

Thanks for calling by and I hope you've enjoyed this revisit post. Catch up with you all again soon.

Uniko - Challenge #60 Reminder

Hey there it's time to give you a gentle reminder about our last challenge of 2020 over at Uniko

The theme for this one is 'tis the season' with the optional twist to add Sparkle! Well you know me ... I can't resist a bit of bling but maybe I've gone a bit OTT here! I decided to pull out my favourite Uniko Christmas goodies and they are all the Winter Foliage range; stamps, dies and stencil along with a die-cut 'Joy' sentiment from Hero Arts and the 'To The World' sentiment is from the Uniko Simply Said Christmas set.

Here's what |I came up with:

I didn't get round to joining in with Tracey McNeely's 25 days of Christmas tags in early November as I wasn't organised enough but I had a little bit of stencilled card left so made the tag as well.

Hopefully there'll be a couple more similar ideas on my IG post ... assuming I remember to post them!

As always there's plenty of fantastic creations by my fellow teamies, so why not head over to the Uniko blog HERE to check out the links and pay them a visit! I'm sure they'd appreciate it and here's our Cue Card for the challenge which we'd love to see displayed in your blog post.

Uniko - DT Inspiration Post: Thank You

Hi there, WOW it's obviously a while since I posted anything here - Blogger has changed! Yikes going to have to take a little time to suss a few things out!

Anyway I hope you are all keeping well, wherever you are during this very stressful and weird time. We are well and trying to juggle both working at home, on the whole, with an 8 month old puppy in tow who is up to lots of mischief - hence crafting has taken a VERY back seat of late.

So today I'm back with a little reminder about our current challenge over at Uniko where the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of 'Thank You'

Here's my card which I put together on one of our dreary days in the UK and decided to skip the old Autumn tones in favour of bright cheery.

As always there's plenty of fantastic creations by my fellow teamies, so why not head over to the Uniko blog HERE to check out the links and pay them a visit! I'm sure they'd appreciate it!

Uniko - Challenge #59 Reminder

Hi there, I'm back with a little reminder about our current challenge over at Uniko and the theme for this one is Anything Goes with the optional twist to make it Bright & Happy.

Here's my card using the floral image from Hello Lovely along with some sentiments from the beautiful set along with a 'beautiful' die-cut word die and shadow. Once again I've channelled Bev's beautiful colour blending combos, which also happen to be some of my own favourites. I've used Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers.

Here's the cue card to explain what's required

... and here's my card using the Mid Century Modern II Stencil with some Uniko sentiments and a die-cut 'sending' word from Simon Says Stamp. I've channelled some of Bev's beautiful colour blending combos here as they are definitely cheerful, bright and happy in my opinion.

Uniko Challenge #58

Hi there, I'm back with a little reminder about our current challenge over at Uniko where the theme is Spots & Stripes with the optional TWIST to use a stencil.

I've got to admit that my mojo isn't exactly flowing at the moment during this stressful time so I've just the one card and it's not the most exciting I've ever done but hope you'll understand ...

I used a home made 'GinaK' style turnaround card adding lines and spots around the corners of my original square panel, using BackGround Builders Classics and Round in Circles sets with a bold sentiment from BIG & BOLD Hello. I opted for bright and cheery colours to hopefully make someone smile.

As always there's plenty of fantastic creations by my fellow teamies, so why not head over to the Uniko blog HERE to check out the links and pay them a visit! I'm sure they'd appreciate it!
